About Me

Well, the most basic piece is that my name is Lauren, I’m a wife, mother, stepmother, and small business owner. I work from home and started thinking about starting a blog last year when I found out I was pregnant with my son. I worked in medical billing, more specifically, denial prevention. I fought the insurance companies on denied and underpaid claims on behalf of a hospital group. However, my real passion is crafting and cooking. I started a small online made-to-order bakery back in 2019, and in 2021, I started my craft business. This blog isn’t just about my businesses, it’s going to be a place to find tips, tricks, and help planning for busy parents. Just because it is called Busy Mom’s guide to doesn’t mean that dads aren’t welcome. To be honest, everyone is welcome; this blog isn’t just for parents. I called it Busy Mom’s guide because I myself am a busy mom.

I plan to change up the format of the typical recipe blog post. I, too, am a consumer of digital media and get the basis for some of my recipes from blogs, so I understand the annoyance of going to a post and having to hit “jump to recipe” or scroll through the entire post for the recipe. I’m going to put the recipe at the top, and the story will follow; that way, it saves everyone minutes of wasted scrolling. The same goes for the posts with tips and tricks and planning advice. I’ll put the spreadsheets or lists at the top of the post.

My hope is that this site can become a place others can come to for delicious recipes, tips for managing an infant or a teenager (my stepson turns 13 on Christmas Eve), how to meal plan and grocery shop, maybe ideas for parties, anything really.

I’m Lauren
